Branch / Sales Manager

Description Our client (a market leader in their field) based in Port Elizabeth, is currently looking for an experienced Branch / Sales Manager to join their dynamic team. 

Assume full responsibility and accountability for the branch operations, sales, staff and profitability.

Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in management position.
  • Valid drivers’ licence essential.
  • English language proficiency.
  • High degree of analytical and numerate skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; must demonstrate the ability to communicate and negotiate at a senior level.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

1. Sales:
  • Maintaining good relations with existing and potential customers.
  • Ensure that as many calls as possible are converted to sales.
  • Working with the Managing Director to ensure that pricing is up to date and in line with new policy (i.e. price breaks).
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.
2. Debtors:
  • Ensuring the level of debtors as low as possible.
  • Contacting customers by phone on a regular basis to collect outstanding amounts.
  • Discussing any concerns on customer accounts with the financial accountant.
3. Stock:
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and records and ensure that losses are kept to a minimum.
  • Reconciling branch stocks on daily basis.
4. Safety and Security:
  • Ensure that staff work in a safe and secure environment.
  • Bringing to the attention of management any deficiencies in safety or security and making recommendations where appropriate.
5. Staff:
  • Manage the staff to ensure that they are adequately trained and capable of performing their roles.
  • Maintaining a proper level of discipline and adhering to employee relation’s procedures.
  • Meeting with the sales team, office staff regularly to review all matters.
