Our client in the Agricultural industry is currently seeking to employ a Junior Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join their dynamic team at their Port Elizabeth branch.

Requirements:

• 1–2 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role (preferred).
• Experience with Sage Pastel is required.
• A relevant Diploma / Degree is required. 
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Recording day-to-day financial transactions for group entities.
• Reconciling bank statements and general ledgers.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and summaries.
• Handling accounts payable and receivable.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintaining accurate filing systems for all financial documents.
• Collaborating with the finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monthly VAT reconciliations and submissions.
• Monthly EMP submissions.
