Our Client in the FMCG / Manufacturing Industry is seeking to employ a Cost Accountant to their team based in Heidelberg ,Gauteng.

Requirements:

• Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure.
• Costing experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably within the meat or food industry).
• Advanced Excel proficiency and general computer literacy.
• High level of confidentiality, particularly regarding proprietary recipes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Com or equivalent qualification with proven costing experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel between operational locations when required.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Perform daily costing calculations of recipes.
• Continuously maintain and update recipes and related costings.
• Submit and control floor recipes for production use.
• Liaise with relevant departments to gather accurate recipe information.
• Maintain and update the product master database.
• Provide and manage product barcode listings.
• Monitor and update purchase price variances.
• Control and update standard costs for all items and products.
• Maintain the costing model using Microsoft Excel.
• Analyse production variance reports related to costing.
• Prepare the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) budget.
• Generate and provide management reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Observe production processes as needed for costing accuracy.
• Report to the Management Cost Accountant.
