Our client in the FMCG industry is looking to employ a Technical Application Specialists to their team.

Location: Eastern Cape, Free State, Nelspruit and Polokwane.

Requirements:

• BSc/BTech in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or a related field.

• 0–2 years’ experience (recent graduates are welcome).

• Exposure to food product development, processing, or applications will be advantageous.

• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel nationally.

• Bilingual

• Proficiency in Afrikaans would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the technical specialist for an assigned product portfolio (Co-Ex, Equipment, or Ingredients).

• Conduct product trials, demonstrations, and application development.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers and the sales team.

• Train and support Area Managers to strengthen their technical understanding of products.

• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer training sessions.

• Manage technical projects such as new product rollouts, equipment implementations, and validation studies.

• Partner with internal teams to align customer requirements with product innovation.

• Document trials, test results, and project progress.

• Provide technical advice, optimisation, and application guidance directly to customers.

• Conduct on-site visits, training sessions, and technical troubleshooting.

• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards (HACCP, ISO).

• Support validation of product specifications, shelf life, and performance testing.
