Description

Our client in the Healthcare / Medical Aid Industry is looking to employ a Product Owner to join their team based in Sandton, Gauteng.

Exciting Opportunity: Join a dynamic product management environment where you will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, define roadmaps, manage backlogs, and ensure delivery of innovative solutions that enhance client experience, support business objectives, and drive operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and users to prioritise features, monitor product performance, and deliver high-quality, value-driven products from concept to launch.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area.
  • Relevant progression certificates (e.g., Agile/LEAN).
  • Scrum Certified Product Owner.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Product Owner or Product Consultant.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Business Support/Technical Specialist.
  • Experience managing projects, BAU work, and product roadmap prioritisation.
  • Exposure to diverse IT solution implementation (desirable).
  • Knowledge of client experience and client lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to defining minimum viable products (MVPs).
  • Knowledge of standard software development roles and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of requirements capturing and specification techniques.
  • Knowledge of conducting user research and developing wireframes and specifications.
  • Knowledge of project management, including product-based planning, business case creation, and risk management.
  • Experience managing multiple feature development in a backlog.
  • Experience scheduling functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Understanding of end-to-end product management principles.
  • Knowledge of product development from idea to solution delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead full product lifecycle, including roadmap development, product strategy, and value proposition enhancement.
  • Translate product strategy into roadmaps and communicate vision with stakeholders.
  • Elicit, prioritise, and translate business requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and mitigate impediments.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and UX teams for prototyping, user stories, and user journeys.
  • Manage product backlog, prioritise Epics, Features, and User Stories, and ensure readiness for deployment.
  • Ensure operational, marketing, training, legal, security, and communication requirements are in place for releases.
  • Lead product release plans, timelines, and delivery expectations.
  • Monitor client experience, feedback, product usage, and financial performance.
  • Develop and implement plans to close performance gaps and mitigate risks.
  • Present recommendations and updates to stakeholders regarding product strategy, design, pricing, and delivery.
