Our client, a well-known citrus farming and packhouse operation, is seeking a Financial Accountant (CA) to join their team in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape.

The role involves managing financial accuracy, providing operational and management insight, and supporting strategic decision-making within a fast-paced packhouse and export-focused environment, particularly during peak citrus season.

Requirements

• SAICA qualified (Completed Articles – essential).
• Minimum 5+ years’ post-articles accounting experience.
• Experience within agriculture, citrus, exports, or FMCG (highly advantageous).
• Solid understanding of export processes and foreign currency transactions.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• High work ethic, particularly during peak citrus season.
• Sound understanding of packhouse cost structures and operational dynamics.
• Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders and business directors.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Exceptional resilience under pressure.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Afrikaans.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Full financial accounting function including reconciliations and reporting.
• Management reporting and analysis.
• Export-related financial management and foreign exchange tracking.
• Costing and margin analysis linked to packhouse operations.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Liaising with operational teams to ensure financial alignment.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Supporting strategic decision-making through financial insight.
