Our client in the automotive manufacturing industry is seeking to employ a qualified Electrician to join their manufacturing and maintenance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical inspections, fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and infrastructure to minimise downtime, support production efficiency, and ensure optimal equipment performance.

Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4)
- Trade Test Qualification – Electrician or Millwright (NQF 5)
- Up to 3 years’ electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy in MS Office, SAP, ERP systems, and maintenance systems
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of maintenance methodologies, SOPs, and engineering practices
- Understanding of housekeeping and safety principles
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Proactive, resilient, and action-oriented approach
Responsibilities:
Repairs and Breakdown Maintenance
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and breakdowns
- Perform electrical repairs and maintenance efficiently to minimise downtime
- Ensure equipment operates according to technical and engineering standards
- Support production by proactively identifying and resolving process-related issues
- Close off maintenance job cards accurately on Shop Ware systems
- Provide reports on repairs, downtime, maintenance activities, and production support
- Ensure product quality standards are maintained during repairs
Preventative and Predictive Maintenance
- Perform first-off inspections and daily equipment checks
- Conduct routine preventative and predictive maintenance inspections
- Identify potential equipment failures before breakdowns occur
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with production and supervisors
- Ensure availability of required maintenance parts and components
- Compile reports on abnormal or out-of-specification equipment conditions
Training and Development
- Assist with the training and development of apprentices
- Prepare training equipment and machines for maintenance training purposes
- Provide technical guidance and maintenance support to apprentices
Compliance and Safety
- Operate within company procedures, controls, and safety regulations
- Promote compliance with maintenance standards and company policies
- Report risks, hazards, and areas of concern to management
- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
- Support compliance with operational and financial controls
Cost Control
- Support cost-effective maintenance practices
- Reduce waste and unnecessary expenditure
- Report deviations from budgetary limits to management
Customer and Production Support
- Maintain effective working relationships with production teams and colleagues
- Provide technical support to minimise production downtime
- Identify and solve problems with integrity and professionalism
- Ensure minimal comebacks and maintenance discrepancies
